Visit to the cellar
The vigneron of the farm De Vescovi Ulzbach will show you the winery and will offer you a wine tasting experience.
Teroldego is one of the few autochthonous red grapes wines of this region. In 1898 the technicians of the Tyrol Provincial Council of Agriculture wrote in an agrarian almanac: “This variety is cultivated intensely in the area of Mezzolombardo and Mezzotedesco and sporadically in the Italian part of this territory. The Teroldico needs an alluvial and fertile soil with a permeable subsoil”.
Indeed, in the gravelly soils of the Piana Rotaliana that Teroldego found its main home. This wine is a symbol of Trentino; it is very closely related to Lagrein wine and can boast Pinot as a distant but notable ancestor.
Thanks to the talented winemakers of the region, Teroldego is experiencing a moment of relaunch; particularly a young generation of winemakers has decided to invest in this variety which has an important history and, most likely, a radiant future.
